Clarke Quay's Day View Over the River

Clarke Quay in general, located besides Singapore River and the Liang Court shopping mall, was revamped as a nightspot with bars, pubs, restaurants and nightclubs on the Clarke Street next to it. Those premises refurbished from old buildings generally serves for nightlife entertainments and various cuisines.

Just opposite the Riverside Point shopping mall across the Singapore River, Clarke Quay seems to serves as a wonderful place for expatriates, tourists, and locals after its opening. You can see different nationals enjoying their nights with various activities. In the past, it was also one of my favourite places for patronizing the Satay (a very popular delicacy in Southeast Asia) stalls stipulated within the Satay Club space.

Early Evening View in Clarke QuayLast week, I was invited by a friend to Clarke Quay for some drinks after quite some times since I last went there, he with his colleges have found a wonder club within the second floor on one of the blocks within Clarke Quay. I arrived later to found out that club offers wonder prices for liquors. Three major entertainment programs in subsequent orders are disco dancing session, live band performance by a local Chinese group, and a dancing group invited from Thailand.

Dancing tracks there are hot, followed by a few wonderful songs and interaction from the band. I slowly turned tipsy with liquors. Nevertheless, the dancing group from Thailand incited my urges. Leading by a male dancer with four female dancers, their performances had let many of us turned wild!

Time went fast and it was already 3 am in the morning whilst the entertainment continued. We were walking to the carpark managed by Liang Court after giving one of the female dancers a flying kiss-goodbye. A small incident happened while walking on the Clarke Street, a big-sized dude deem to be a staff from a pub along the street came running from a corner in a hurry state, gave a slight push on the shoulder of my slow walking friend, immediately received a “FXXX You” from my friend.

However, I don’t think this small incident in Clarke Quay could stir up and become a huge one, especially when the man involved is a staff within a local pub. There are security personals strolling along the streets which could not be seen in the past. Nightlife in Clarke Quay is much more enjoyable than ever.
