The National Museum of Singapore received plenty of awards with high appraisal, is the oldest museum in Singapore. Opened when Singapore was part of the British Straits Settlements. Beside its current official name, National Museum of Singapore was known as Singapore History Museum between year 1993 and March of 2006 before reverted back to its previous name currently in use. Officially opened by S. R. Nathan, President of Singapore and Lee Boon Yang, Minister for Information, Communications and the Arts.

Within the National Museum of Singapore, not only you can explore the history of Singapore from the 14th century by its exhibition, there are also Singapore Living Galleries for your participation in categorized events mainly Film & Wayang, Food, Photography, and Fashion related to Singapore history. It has added events enrichment to life in Singapore.

Located at 93, Stamford Road, National Museum of Singapore accepts admission daily for its History Gallery exhibition starting from 10am to 5.30pm and 10am to 7.30pm for its Living Galleries generally. In addition, there is a free daily admission for the Singapore Living Galleries starting from 6pm – 7.30pm.

Not to miss out the “Cinematheque” films from over the world shown every second Tuesday of the Month, co-presented by the National Museum and Singapore Film Society currently. Booking is available online and over the counter.
